I've been doing a lot of thinking over the past week, and have decided to put racing on the backburner until next year. Even though I am super-motivated, especially after my debacle in Lincoln Plating, I've just got a little too much on my plate to concentrate. I'm just going to continue riding and train all this next winter and come out next year with all guns blazing, so look out. I have given some thought to doing the NCA crit in Lincoln the day after the State RR, but not sure yet. I just want to concentrate on work and be there when they need me. I have the best job in the world, and it is very important to me, so I am there for them 100%.

Another note is that Alberto Contador and I were born on the exact same day, Dec. 6, 1982, so I guess now I have a lot too live up do. Don't I?

Saturday night was an evening of pain. Went for a ride with Tyler Carmichael and he put me in the hole. I was on the rivet the whole time. Gravel, pavement that guy is just plain fast. He definitely is deserving of his cat 3 license. He waited for me a few times, but I just kept going as fast as I could. The last half hour or so he went pretty easy and let me just hang on. It was a good ride, and hopefully he and I will start riding regularly. I'll get faster and he has someone to ride with, and kick their ass. We got soaked for the last little bit as well, and that made me feel a lot better. I usually go faster in the rain.

Sunday morning headed to Highgear for the Tour finale ride. Only ended up being Matt, Paul M, Brent, and myself to Louisville and back. For all of you that didn't race and didn't make the ride you missed a great day. The rain let up and it was clear by the time we left the shop for an epic ride. I even beat Matt T. in a sprint to the Louisville sign. He had kicked early and I wasn't sure what was going on until Paul jumped around me. I took off and pulled even with Matt, and then ahead. He almost pipped me at the sign. It was a good show for all the drivers around us. Either way Matt could put me in a hole whenever he wanted to. I think he let me win.

So overall the weekend went pretty well. Didn't make it downtown to see the crit, I'm sorry, but my legs were shatter after the past two days and I just wanted to rest. Since I don't own a car, I wasn't going to ride, and I certainly wasn't going to walk. Congratulations to all that raced, and did well. Congrats to the winners. Hopefully I'll be there next year.
