Guess I don't have to worry about you killing me on a sprint now, huh? Good luck -- I'm sure it'll work out fine.

i can do well if i make it to the sprint in the top 10, just getting there is the problem. you'll upgrade soon enough. 5 to 4 is not that much of a difference except the rides are a little longer. oh well off to the second job and more training.

Throw some boxes! Lug those packages! But don't break anything heading to my house.

build some muscle as well don't worry i'm handling other states packages, so shipping something might get broken but no receiving.

One of the guys who rides at Bike Masters is a UPS pilot. Barry something or other. He has a pretty sweet Felt FC3. And one of those Garmin GPS computers.

actually, munson, the jump from a cat 5 to a 4 is pretty big. a strong cat 4 can be better than you'd expect. Going from the 5's to competing with the top 4's is a huge jump. But, hanging into a 4's race isn't so bad. Just don't let any dipshits crash you and you should have a lot of fun.

How's UPS?

i did a 4's training crit last year and was dropped on the last 1/2 lap, so i think i can do all right since that was the first race i ever did and i've got a little more experience now. not sure how the tt and rr will go for lincoln, but the crit should be ok. my bro's going to come up and do the weekend, so i'll have a good wheel to follow.

I was a cat four for like 3 years of my life. I did my first cat 4 race when I was 12 years old and hung in. It took about 2 years to be able to win one. It was harder than I thought. Racing is odd. It doesn't matter how strong you are at times. You really gotta have some good luck and know what to do. It can be frustrating at times.

If you listen to any advice I spout off listen to this one. When you're in a race pretend like it's your first race in that level. Pretend like you are in your first p12 crit. It's funny. You save everything you have and you're really aware of what's going on. At the end you might get lucky. Over-estimate it. Otherwise you will ride like a jackass and will have nothing left when it comes down to a mile to go.

So, pretend like you're a cat 6. I promise it will work. Hey, maybe I can even make fun of you before the race. "Oh Matt, shut up. You suck. You're gonna get dropped". Then I'll see you killing everyone in the final 200 meters.
